COVID-19 Outbreak Information

As of August 23rd, 2021

Due to the rise in Delta variant cases in the PNW, and following the lead of Washington State mandates, the following rules are in effect:

  • Masks covering the mouth and nose are required inside barn 1.

  • All people should maintain 6-foot social distancing between them at all times.

  • Students should meet their instructor on the parking lot side of the barn and enter the barn only accompanied by their instructor.

  • Only students are allowed inside the barn. One parent/guardian may watch lessons from the location indicated by the lesson instructor.

  • Lessons will run 55 minutes in length to allow for proper cleaning time between riders. Saddles, bridles, and brushes will be cleaned by the instructor between lessons.

  • The bathrooms are open for use--and are cleaned regularly. The lobby is NOT open to students/families.

  • Please do not come to the farm if you have a fever, cough, shortness of breath, fatigue, muscle aches, or new loss of taste or smell.

  • Pony time and birthday parties run 75 minutes. For Pony Time, only one person may accompany the rider, for birthday parties only the birthday child’s parent(s) may accompany the group.

As of May 13, 2021

Per the CDC and state guidelines, anyone coming to Gold Creek that has been fully vaccinated (2 weeks past the 2nd vaccine for Moderna and Pfizer, 2 weeks past the Johnson and Johnson vaccine) are now NOT required to wear face masks. If you are not fully vaccinated please continue to wear your face coverings.

As of July 1, 2020

Gold Creek is open for private lessons (see availability and sign up here) and will be following all state and federal laws and regulations regarding COVID-19. This means we are requiring the use of masks in all barns and indoor facilities, encouraging boarders and riders to wash hands frequently, and limiting foot traffic in our office/lobby space.

Please note that our lessons are FULL at this time and, due to COVID-19, we are not hosting barn tours. We look forward to meeting those of you looking to join our Gold Creek family in the future!

If you have any questions, please contact us via email at goldcreekec@gmail.com.

May 19 Update
dos-donts.jpg

Greetings Gold Creek Riding Students and Families,

We hope you are staying healthy. As you know, Gold Creek Equestrian has been providing essential care and exercise to our horses in anticipation of your return to our farm.

We are still awaiting the governors approval to reopen our lesson program, but we are hopeful that we will be permitted to reopen in Phase 2 (on June 1st). We will send out information on our lesson program as soon as we can.  The lessons will be scheduled on a slow roll out basis.

You will receive a direct email from us when your lessons will start.  Please do not assume your lessons will begin starting June 1st. If you would like to change your previous schedule, are not interested in riding at that time, or need to postpone your lessons to a future date please let us know. You will receive an email from Gold Creek confirming your registration(s) and riding schedule.

Gold Creek will also be starting a lease program of our lesson horses to some of our more experienced riders. This program may affect horse usage, as the leasers will be doing multi-day rides on specific horses. If you are interested in leasing a horse (the lease does include lessons), please let us know.

Thank you for your continued support of Gold Creek and our horses. Stay safe!

April 5 Update

To the families of Gold Creek,

First and foremost, we hope this email finds you and your family well. Given the ever-evolving situation surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, we are continuing to closely monitor the latest news and information available regarding the virus. Per the Governor’s latest announcement, Gold Creek will remain CLOSED for ALL lessons through May 5th. In the meantime, we will continue to follow the guidelines of Homeland Security by offering care and exercise to the horses at our farm.

If you have lessons scheduled between now and the beginning of May, your lessons have been extended to start on the date we will reopen. All funds in your account have been credited to these future lessons. We are very grateful to those who have already offered to contribute their April lesson fees to our farm and/or the Gold Creek Equine Rescue. If you’d like to contribute some or all of your April lesson fees in this way, please just reply to this email letting us know.

The Gold Creek Riding School horses are doing well, but they are definitely missing the Gold Creek lesson students during this time. If you have any pictures of your student riding one of our lesson horses and would be willing to share it with us so they we can add it to our website and share it on our Facebook page, please send them our way. We will also be sharing greetings from our lesson horses on Facebook throughout the month of April, so make sure you are checking our page regularly!

Thank you for your continued support of Gold Creek Equestrian and our horses.

March 26 Update

To the Lesson Families of Gold Creek,

Per Governor Inslee’s “Stay Home, Stay Healthy” Order, the Gold Creek riding school lesson program will be closed as of Wednesday March 25th — and will remain closed until the Order is lifted on April 7th.

We plan to shift all of your paid and scheduled lessons back two weeks to begin again on April 7th. We hope this scheduling change will work for most of you, but please contact us if you’d like to make other arrangements. We would be happy to accommodate you through one of the following alternatives:

1)     Cancel your lessons for a full refund.

2)     Keep your lessons “scheduled” and allow us to convert the funds you paid for your lessons into donations for the Gold Creek Equine Rescue.

The horses will miss all of you over the next couple weeks, but we promise to take good care of them until you return. We will continue to stay in touch via email as well as through our website and Facebook page.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions, comments, or concerns. Thank you for your continued support of Gold Creek Equestrian and our horses.

March 15 Update

As the situation regarding COVID-19 outbreak is still rapidly evolving, we are continuing to closely monitor the latest news and information available regarding the virus. Gold Creek remains OPEN for ALL lessons and training rides and we continue to serve boarders and leasers as usual. In an effort to continue normal operations while also abiding by the rules and restrictions put in place to slow the spread of the virus, we have instituted some biosecurity measures and we ask that EVERYONE abide by them so that Gold Creek can remain a safe place for the families of our community:

  1. No more than one person may accompany the student into the first barn.

  2. The lobby will be CLOSED for all viewing. The bathrooms will be open for use and will be disinfected throughout the day. They should be accessed through the main arena.

  3. To adhere by 6-foot social distancing recommendations, most horses will be tacked up and untacked in their stalls. For beginning students, the instructors will be brushing/tacking up and down. For more experienced students (please check in with your instructor when you arrive), we will be providing disposable gloves to wear when using the brushes/tack.

  4. Please do not plan on attending your class if you feel ill. You can email us at goldcreekec@gmail.com to cancel a lesson. We have modified our cancellation policy so that lessons can be rescheduled with as little as 24 hours of notice (we typically require 72 hours).

The above precautionary measures will be in place until the outbreak is over (we recognize this may be several months), so we appreciate your patience and cooperation to keep yourselves and everyone else healthy and safe. If you are not comfortable coming to our farm, please let us know and we will credit your cancelled lessons for future lessons. If you would like to add additional lessons due to school closures, please email us with available dates and times.

Thank you for your continued support of Gold Creek Equestrian and our horses.
